I view Rock Canyon as one of the great natural assets we have here in Provo. It provides not only recreation but scenic beauty that rivals anything I've seen around the world. I believe that as a community we should bring to bear the necessary resources to protect the canyon. The owner shouldn't be allowed to harm the community's best interests. Not only will I protect Rock Canyon, I will invest in a park infrastructure that enhances the enjoyability of this unique asset..
I am proud to be endorsed by Sid Sandberg, the Rock Canyon neighborhood chair. Sid has seen not only my commitment to protect Rock Canyon but also has confidence in my abilities to find the best possible resolution to this problem.
I would like to see us do more to protect our other natural resources here in Provo. We have canyons, rivers, mountains, a lake and others that are all part of what makes Provo a great place to live. In order to make sure that this doesn't happen again, we need to be proactive.
I will make sure that there is not a repeat of the Rock Canyon debacle with any of our other priceless resources.
